Marklein Statement on Violence at the US Capitol

Madison, WI – Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) released the following statement on the violence at the US Capitol:

"Several months ago, windows were broken at my office at the State Capitol, twice.

I said it then, and I’ll say it now, there is absolutely no justification for violence to express an opinion. I condemn the violence at the United States Capitol building today and hope that all citizens will seek peaceful resolution to our differences.”

Marklein represents the 17th Senate District in southwest Wisconsin. He was elected to the Assembly in 2010 and 2012. He was elected to the Senate in 2014 and 2018 and has served as a member of the JFC since 2014.
