Marklein Statement on Appointment of Randy Romanski as Secretary of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection

 
Madison, WI – Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) released the following statement regarding Governor Tony Evers’ appointment of Randy Romanski as Secretary-Designee of the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection (DATCP).
 
“I applaud Governor Tony Evers’ appointment of Randy Romanski as Secretary-Designee for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Randy is a good choice for this position and has demonstrated strong leadership and a collaborative spirit during his tenure as interim secretary.
 
As Chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Revenue and Financial Institutions, I have regularly communicated with Randy and his team since he was appointed as the interim Secretary. We have maintained regular meetings and conversations to understand the priorities of the legislature and the administration. He kept me in the loop throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic and demonstrated a strong effort to work with all of the stakeholders in the ag-industry in Wisconsin throughout their response.
 
I look forward to holding a hearing on Randy’s appointment in the near future.”
