MADISON—Today, Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) was sworn into office for his first term in the State Senate.

“I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve my constituents in the 17th senate district. My background as a CPA and Certified Fraud Examiner will bring a new perspective to the State Senate. I am excited to start working with my colleagues on ways we can make Wisconsin a better place to work and live,” said Marklein.

He was also appointed to the Transportation & Veterans Affairs Committee, the Labor & Government Reform Committee, and the Joint Survey Committee on Retirement Systems.

“I am excited to use my skillset to address revenue, financial institutions, and rural issues. My communities in Southwest Wisconsin are affected by these issues every day and I am looking forward to being able to address them,” Marklein continued.
