Madison, WI – Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) was appointed to serve as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Transportation, Veterans and Military Affairs and as a Member of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources & Energy for the 2019-20 Legislative Session today.
“My committee assignments reflect the Senate’s commitment to giving rural Wisconsin a strong voice on important issues such as transportation, agriculture, taxes and natural resources,” Marklein said. “I am excited to begin our work again in January and am further enthused to begin a new role on the Senate Committee on Natural Resources & Energy. This committee discusses unique concepts that have particular concern to our communities.”
Marklein was appointed to serve as Chair of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Revenue & Financial Institutions last week and the legislature’s budget-writing Joint Finance Committee in November.
As President Pro Tempore, Marklein will also serve as an ex officio member of the Joint Legislative Council.
