Senator Ringhand: Just Fix It

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that states can now to collect sales tax from online purchases, which could potentially lead to an additional $187 million a year in tax revenue according to the Government Accountability Office.

According to press reports Governor Walker is unsure what to do with the windfall.

Senator Ringhand issued the following suggestion.

“Governor Walker has failed to take care of our roads. Maybe this money should be targeted to everyone who registers a vehicle in the state to offset the cost of repairs due to lousy road conditions.  According to American Society of Civil Engineers, Wisconsin drivers will pay $637 per year to repair damage caused by poor roads.  Governor Walker’s failure to take care of our roads have left them ranked the 44th worst in the nation.

Governor Walker could send a rebate check to every vehicle owner to offset the cost of repairs, or he could take responsibility, do his job and just fix it.”
