Act Now!

There is still time to get an Absentee Ballot! Voting absentee remains the safest and easiest way to vote in this difficult time. You have until April 2nd to request an absentee ballot.

  1. Requests for absentee ballots can be completed online, by email, by fax or by mail.
  2. To request a ballot online, voters can go to https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/ and follow the prompts. You can also track your ballot through the site to see when it has been sent out. Requests for a ballot must be completed by 5:00 PM on April 2nd.
    1. You can email or fax your local clerk to request a ballot – this also must be completed by 5:00 PM on April 2nd. A directory of clerks is available here.
    2. If you wish to request a ballot by mail, you can download the form here and send it to their clerk. The clerk must receive it by April 2nd. Those who vote by mail must fill out their ballot in the presence of a witness.
  3. Voters must show ID no matter which method they use. Copies of a photo ID can be submitted online or submitting a copy of it. Once you have shown your ID, you may request absentee ballots for future elections without having to show ID again. Also, certain voters are exempt from the photo ID requirement, such as military voters, and those considered indefinitely confined, such as nursing home residents.
  4. Absentee ballots must be returned to clerks by 8:00 PM on Election Day.
