The Budget Process

It is a busy time at the Capitol and it is about to get busier. Governor Walker will deliver his budget address next week. It starts the process of deciding how the state spends your money over the next two years.

After his budget is released, legislators will break it down, go over it and put it back together over the coming months. Fortunately, because of our responsible budgeting two years ago, we will start with a positive balance. I am encouraged that the Governor has inidicated he is looking at more money for public schools.

Your input is essential in this process. Let my office know your thoughts after the Governor delivers his address, which takes place Wednesday, February 8th at 4:00 P.M.

Centennial Celebration

This week kicked off a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Wisconsin State Capitol Building. Every time I walk into this building I get goosebumps – we have such a beautiful Capitol and I would encourage you to schedule a tour if it’s been a while since you have seen it.

Waterloo Middle School

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to visit the 8th grade Civics class at Waterloo Middle School. I had a great time talking to a great group of kids! Thanks for having me!
