Madison- State Representative John Jagler (R-Watertown) issued the following statement regarding the passage of the 2013-15 state budget in the State Assembly:

“After months of working out budget details and receiving feedback from constituents throughout the district I am happy to support a fiscally responsible budget that will keep Wisconsin moving forward.  This budget looks out for taxpayers by allowing for nearly $1 billion in income tax cuts over the course of the biennium and holding the line on property taxes.”

"In addition, the budget shows our commitment to public education throughout the state.  I am also pleased with the expansion of school choice statewide under this budget, which will give parents with low income the ability to choose the educational option that they feel is best for their children.

“I also applaud the provision in the budget that will freeze tuition and fees at UW schools for two years.”
