MILWAUKEE…The Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC) today announced that state Representative John Jagler (R-Watertown) has received the “Champion of Commerce” award for his service in the 2015-2016 Wisconsin legislative session.
“Through the hard work of leaders like Representative Jagler, we were able to achieve a number of significant public policy victories for the workers and employers of the Metropolitan Milwaukee region and the entire state of Wisconsin,” said MMAC President Tim Sheehy. “Representative Jagler is working hard in Madison to keep our economy competitive. We are grateful for his service and proud to salute him with our ‘Champion of Commerce’ award.”
The Champion of Commerce award is given to lawmakers who earn an 80% or greater ranking on MMAC’s biennial LegislativeScorecard. The Scorecard tallies significant votes in priority areas identified by the “MMAC Blueprint for Economic Prosperity.” For the 2015-2016 Session, Representative Jagler achieved a 100% ranking on the MMAC scorecard.
“Every two years, in advance of the legislative session, we lay out our members’ public policy priorities to lawmakers, the press, and the public in our ‘Blueprint for Economic Prosperity,’ “said Sheehy. “This award recognizes those legislative leaders who took note of those priorities and worked to advance them in Madison.”
The MMAC represents nearly 1800 member companies employing over 300,000 workers in the metropolitan Milwaukee Region.
