Touring the District

One of things that I love most about serving the 13th Senate district is having the  opportunity to tour some great companies that serve our communities. Meeting these job providers is always an enjoyable experience.

Last Monday I had a full day visiting week I had the pleasure to see the operations of LKQ in Hustisford,  Prairie Ridge Health in Columbus and Crave Farm of Waterloo.

Crave Brothers work in cooperation with other local farmers for custom feed harvesting, custom heifer raising, and machinery sharing. We raise our crops using sustainable methods including minimum tillage and crop rotation. Our cropland is fertilized with recycled nutrients from our manure digester. In addition, our manure digester produces enough electricity to power our farm, cheese factory and over 300 area homes making us a carbon negative company.

I discussed an issue hospitals are facing that is having an impact on patient access to clinician-administered drugs. The issue is commonly referred to as “white bagging” and is fraught with care delivery problems that are disrupting patient appointments and causing unnecessary burden on care providers.

LKQ Corporation is the leading provider of alternative and specialty parts to repair and accessorize automobiles and other vehicles. LKQ has operations in North America, Europe and Taiwan. LKQ offers its customers a broad range of replacement systems, components, equipment and parts to repair and accessorize automobiles, trucks, and recreational and performance vehicles.

Blue Book Delay

Last week I mentioned we were ready to start taking orders for the Wisconsin Blue Books. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, the books have been delayed 4-6 weeks. However, I still would like to encourage you to place your order today and make sure you secure your free copy before they are all taken. Reply to this email with your mailing address and one will be mailed as soon as they become available.
