Budget Listening Sessions

The state budget is one of the most important pieces of legislation that we pass and listening sessions are a way for you to let me know what you believe the priorities should be. I have scheduled listening sessions throughout our area for the coming weeks and these are a great opportunity for me to hear about the issues impacting you so that I can voice those concerns in Madison.

R-word Bill Advances to Governor's Desk

On Tuesday both the Assembly and the Senate voted to remove the words “mental retardation” and all of its forms from administrative code. The words will be replaced with the term “intellectual disability.” The bill passed on a voice vote with broad bipartisan support. Governor Evers has stated publically that he will sign the bill into law and I look forward to that!
