Due to regulations on campaigning and state office work this is the last E-newsletter you will be receiving until after the elections in November. Wisconsin Statute 11.33 states a representative who is also a candidate for office may not use public funds to distribute more than 49 pieces of identical material.
Just because you do not receive E-newsletters does not mean my office is inaccessible. We are still available to help if you have an issue with a state agency or aren’t sure where to get information. This is also a valuable time for researching potential legislation and working with relevant groups to get it ready for introduction in the new session. If you have an idea for legislation please let me know - many of my legislative proposals come from constituents who contacted my office!

Legislative Highlights
Authored legislation to help ensure Medicaid beneficiaries receive the right equipment tailor made for their needs and protect access for those that need life enhancing devices such as walkers, traction devices and canes.
Authored legislation that allows eye drop medication refills at 75% of the predicted use date. Since eye drops medications can be wasted by involuntary blinking when the drop is administered, a delay in getting a refill could cause eye damage in patients with glaucoma or other conditions. Now patients can have their insurance cover medication refills when they need it.
No new income of sales tax.
Eliminated the state portion of your property tax bill.
Repealed part of the personal property tax on small businesses.
Largest rainy day fund in state history – roughly $300 million.
Saved the average student more than $6,000 by freezing tuition at UW system schools.
Expanded drug screening, testing and treatment for Medicaid and food stamp recipients.
Created asset restrictions for FoodShare, WI Shares and Wisconsin Works recipients – now participant’s assets cannot be more than 200 percent of the statewide median home value or $321, 200.
