New UW-Madison Chancellor a Ridiculous Choice

Senator Steve Nass (R-Whitewater), Vice Chairman of the Senate Universities and Technical Colleges Committee, released the following statement in response to the UW System Board of Regents selecting Jennifer Mnookin as the next chancellor at UW-Madison.  Jennifer Mnookin currently serves as the Dean of the University of California – Los Angeles Law School.

“Unfortunately, the UW System Board of Regents missed a great opportunity to find a chancellor that would be more representative of the people of Wisconsin.  It is not shocking that the current majority of Evers’ appointees on the Board of Regents would opt for a West Coast liberal with no real connections to the values and character of Wisconsin taxpayers and families.
Jennifer Mnookin has a very clear history of advocating for the forced indoctrination of college students with critical race theory.  She has openly supported mandatory Covid-19 vaccinations regardless of the rights of individuals to make that healthcare determination for themselves.
It has also been reported that Mnookin met with the scandal plagued Hunter Biden (in 2019) and supported him joining the UCLA faculty to instruct students on drug policies.  The Hunter Biden situation is so absurd and absolutely disqualifying of her ability to make sound judgements.
If the Board of Regents truly believes that Mnookin is the best choice, then the next Republican governor and legislature should find it impossible to provide more taxpayer dollars or allow the board to increase tuition.”
