Statement on Today’s Jobs Report

MADISON – The following is a statement of Senate Democratic Leader Chris Larson on the new numbers released regarding Wisconsin’s national job creation standing.

“Today’s news reaffirms what everyone already knew. Wisconsin continues to lag nationally in job creation at no fault of our hard-working, middle-class families because for the last 2 years, Governor Walker and legislative Republicans spent more time on political favors and retribution than on creating Wisconsin jobs. Falling far below the national job creation average, Wisconsin’s middle-class families continue to suffer from this administration failing to sit down at the table with all parties to build a true middle-class budget that supports small businesses, invests in workforce training and fights for a stronger future.

“The question now is whether the Governor will set aside his political ambitions for long enough to help us address this growing jobs crisis or if he will continue to trump the needs of the people of Wisconsin."
