Statement on the Retirement of Senator Bob Jauch

MADISON – The following is a statement of Senate Democratic Leader Chris Larson on Senator Bob Jauch's announcement today.

"Today, the Senate suffers the loss of a giant. For 31 years, Senator Jauch has provided the Wisconsin Legislature with a broad knowledge of the most important issues facing Wisconsin, while also giving the residents of northern Wisconsin an impassioned, booming voice in Madison.

"From Minority Leader to sitting on the committees on Education, Finance, Public Health, Human Services, Workforce Development, Forestry, Mining and Revenue, and Retirement Services, Senator Jauch's accomplishments have made a positive impact on every Wisconsin resident and local tribal member. Most recently, Senator Jauch provided the Senate with an understanding of the impact of the 2013 mining legislation and we are all grateful for his leadership on such an important issue.

"Fighting to move Wisconsin forward, Senator Jauch has always been focused on Wisconsin's next generation. Advocating for smaller class sizes, improving rural school districts and supporting the Center for Civic Education, Senator Jauch's work will better the lives of young people for decades to come."
