Hutton Sworn in as 5th District Senator
MADISON – Rob Hutton (R-Brookfield) was sworn in last week as State Senator for the 5th Senate District. He succeeds Dale Kooyenga, who did not seek re-election in last November’s election.
Senator Hutton issued the following statement:
“It’s an honor to be chosen by the people of the 5th Senate District to represent them in Madison. My priorities include providing excellent constituent services, lowering the tax burden and reducing the footprint of government, and making sure state agencies work better for the citizens they’re meant to serve.
“My staff and I are here to serve. I encourage residents of the 5th District to contact my office for assistance navigating state government agencies and to share their thoughts on matters before the State Senate. I look forward to serving the district for the next four years.”
Sen. Hutton has been named chairman of the Committee on Universities and Revenue, vice-chair of the Committee on Insurance and Small Business, co-chair of the Joint Review Committee on Criminal Penalties, and a member of the Committees on Judiciary and Public Safety and Transportation and Local Government.
Sen. Hutton will keep constituents up-to-date on the business of the Capitol via regular email updates. Those interested in subscribing to his e-updates may sign up here.
