Education and Health Care in the Budget:  A Milwaukee Town Hall

Taylor, Milwaukee Legislators Host Town Hall Hearing on Critical Issues to Milwaukee

(MILWAUKEE)  Senator Lena C. Taylor (D-Milwaukee), Senate Ranking Member of the Joint Committee on Finance, announced she will hold a special Town Hall Hearing on Education and Health Care in The Budget.  Wisconsin state funding and policy regarding education and healthcare are considered to be two of the greatest issues that Milwaukee citizens will take note of in the budget.

“I invite all of Milwaukee to GNB on Monday night to make their voices heard,” Taylor noted.  “Throughout this budget process, the voices of citizens must be heard.  Despite every effort of some in the Legislature to stifle that voice, my colleagues and I will ensure that Milwaukee is informed about the cuts to education and healthcare in Scott Walker’s budget.  This Milwaukee Town Hall Hearing is a chance to learn and then to comment to the legislators that have to vote on this budget.”

Taylor will be joined by other Milwaukee legislators and special guests MPS Superintendent Dr. Gregory Thornton; Eric Gass, City of Milwaukee Health Dept. Research and Policy Director; and Dr. Patricia McManus of the Wisconsin Black Health Coalition.  Events details are as follows:
