Statement on Child Victims Act

(MADISON) Senator Lena C. Taylor, chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Corrections, Insurance, Campaign Finance Reform, and Housing released the following statement regarding the Child Victims Act (SB 319).

“My office has received requests to comment on the Child Victims Act and other individual legislators opinions of this bill. I will only speak for my support of the legislation and the work that my office did alongside the author to generate a reasonable compromise that would ensure passage by a majority of the committee and the Legislature. I cannot and will not speak for other members of the committee regarding their position on the bill.”
