Legislature to Honor the Contributions of African-Americans
Black History Month Program returns, activities planned in Madison
(MADISON) The Wisconsin Legislature will pause its work and recognize the contributions of African-Americans in Wisconsin in a special program on Thursday at the Capitol. The Black & Hispanic Caucus of the Legislature is organizing the event, which will feature songs, remarks, and the honoring of the lives of African-Americans in Wisconsin. Honorees will be included in a
joint resolution to be taken up by the Legislature that day.
Details for the program are below. The event is open to all persons, and honorees are being named by Republicans and Democrats from across the state. Local pastors and musicians are scheduled to appear in the program. Friends and family are encouraged to attend and join in the festivities.
