Statement on Wisconsin Office of Recovery & Reinvestment
MADISON-Today Governor Doyle proposed the creation of the Office of Economic Recovery and Reinvestment. Under his proposal, this new administrative office in the Department of Administration would be charged with overseeing the purported $3 billion of economic stimulus dollars Wisconsin may be eligible for under the Obama Administration’s proposed economic stimulus package.
“Like many other states, Wisconsin residents have been hit hard by this downturned economy. I look forward to reviewing Governor Doyle’s proposal and working with him and the entire legislature to ensure that federal economic stimulus funds are distributed quickly and responsibly,” Senator Lena C Taylor (D-Milwaukee) said. “In light of the troubling news of job cuts today at Harley Davidson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin must quickly act to address job creation.”
Senator Lena C Taylor is a member of the Joint Committee on Finance and represents the 4th Senate District.
