Taylor Statement of Support and Invitation to I-PAMA Dedications

Today, the Institute for the Preservation of African American Music and Arts (I-PAMA) will be holding two dedication ceremonies in Milwaukee: one for the official dedication of a new building located at 9100 North Swann Road and another conceptual dedication for a future building located at 3200 West Hampton Avenue. In anticipation of attending both ceremonies, Senator Lena Taylor (D – Milwaukee) released the following statement:

“The work of preserving African American art and heritage is incredibly important. Since I became aware of the plan to dedicate a building to the preservation of African American culture, I have continued to support the mission of I-PAMA and I am thrilled a second location will be coming to the 4th District on West Hampton Avenue soon. The addition of another venue will give the community greater access to the unique ways in which African American culture has been expressed throughout history. I applaud the work of Bishop Daniels and the entire team for taking on both of these amazing projects. I look forward to the opportunity to give brief remarks at the dedication of the Martel C. Scott campus this afternoon. I encourage the community to come witness this historic event.”
