Taking Care of Our Veterans

(MADISON) – State Senator Tim Carpenter (D-Milwaukee) released the following statement regarding Veteran Grant Recipients in Milwaukee.

“I was very proud to attend a ceremony today were it was announced that the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative will receive a $25,000 grant to help provide furniture, food, clothing, and household goods to homeless and at risk veterans. At this same meeting it was announced that the Latino Veterans Legacy of Valor Foundation of Milwaukee will also $25,000 to fund the groups programs aimed at the many Latino veterans. I have often said that our commitment to our troops does not end when they take off the uniform, we owe it to those who have served to take care of them as they transition back to civilian life. These programs are an example of that.”
