Solar Continues to Soar in Northeast Wisconsin

Cowles Applauds Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross for Commitment to Solar

GREEN BAY– Senator Robert Cowles (R-Green Bay) released the following statement after attending an event this morning at Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross on Nicolet Drive in Green Bay to learn more about their community’s commitment to solar energy:

“Following last week’s historic groundbreaking on the first utility-scale solar project in Wisconsin named Two Creeks Solar, I attended an event at with the Catholic community and local leaders to recognize the installation of a solar array at Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross. To truly promote diversity in our state’s energy portfolio, larger projects like the one in Two Rivers and smaller projects like the one on Nicolet Drive are both necessary for a cleaner and more robust energy portfolio.

“Last month, I also visited this solar array with representatives of Focus on Energy where I learned about the impact local residents had on the design and installation of this project. This makes the solar array at Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross yet another example of how the state’s momentum towards a more diverse energy portfolio will provide a larger energy generation workforce and more homegrown economic development.”
