Local Legislators Advocate for  State Roads in Brown County

MADISON– Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna), Senator Rob Cowles (R-Green Bay), and Representatives John Nygren (R-Marinette), Gary Tauchen (R-Bonduel), and David Steffen (R-Howard) joined together in support of an opportunity to receive federal aid for the State Highway 29-County Highway VV Interchange project through the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Discretionary Grant:

“I am throwing my full support behind pursuing any possible means to get funding for this incredibly important project. The area around State Highway 29 and County Highway VV is booming, both residentially and commercially. The BUILD Grant funds would help our businesses more easily access goods, our communities to continue seeing growth, and most importantly, our residents to feel safe when they’re on our roads.” said Rep. Steineke.

“This proposed project will eliminate two at-grade intersections along State Highway 29 and replace them with a grade-separated interchange that will help to foster the economic growth in a growing community, be much safer for school transportation, and ease the mobility of goods and people,” stated Senator Cowles.

“I am happy to provide my support for funding to the State Highway 29-County Highway VV Interchange Project through the Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) Discretionary Grant. The Brown County area is one of the fastest growing in Wisconsin. With businesses like Green Bay Packaging and Foxconn expanding and locating in the area, improvements to our infrastructure are more important than ever,” said Rep. Nygren.

“Improving safety along Hwy 29 and County Highway VV is very important to the area and my constituents and visitors to the area. To get people to visit Lambeau Field and all parts of beautiful Northeastern Wisconsin we must look at road safety improvements,” said Rep. Tauchen

“The State Highway 29 corridor is very important to our local area. Replacing these intersections with an interchange will make travel safer and easier for local commuters and visitors alike. I am happy to provide my support for this project and will continue to work with interested parties to see it through,” said Rep. Steffen.

If completed, the interchange would replace two at-grade intersections at County Trunk Highways VV and U along State Trunk Highway 29 in Brown County with a grade-separated interchange which would include sidewalks, on-street bicycle lanes, and roundabouts at the on-ramps and nearby intersections.
