Joint Finance Committee Public Hearings
This week, my colleagues on the Joint Finance Committee (JFC)
and I will begin the process of public hearings. Members of the
JFC will travel to the proverbial "four corners of the state" to
listen to Wisconsinites' comments, concerns, and opinions about
the proposed state budget. At these hearings, the public is
invited to appear before the JFC and speak to the members about
their concerns or support of items in the proposed budget.
Listed below are the JFC public hearing dates, times, and
locations:
Wednesday, March 18 (10:00 a.m. - 5:00
p.m.)
Brillion High School
Endries Performing Arts Center
W1101 County Road HR
Brillion, WI 54110
Friday, March 20 (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
Alverno College
Pitman Theatre
3400 South 43rd Street
Milwaukee, WI 53234
Monday, March 23 (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
University of Wisconsin-Barron County
Fine Arts Theatre
1800 College Drive
Rice Lake, WI 54868
Thursday, March 26 (9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
Reedsburg High School
CAL Center Auditorium
1100 South Albert Avenue
Reedsburg, WI 53959
These locations are regionally-based around the state. I
understand that it's difficult for many people to travel long
distances to attend these public hearings and for this reason
the JFC has created an email address where everyone's input can
be heard. This email address enables individuals that are unable
to attend the public hearings to send their comments, questions, and concerns regarding the
proposed state budget.
Please feel free to send your opinions to:
BudgetComments@legis.wisconsin.gov
The address sends messages directly to the JFC committee clerk
and is a great resource for constituents like you to voice your
opinions about Wisconsin's 2015-17 budget. The email address
will be functional through the entire time of the public
hearings process, ending on Friday, March 27th.
All comments and information sent to this address will be
compiled and delivered to every member of the Joint Finance
Committee for their consideration.
