November 13, 2014

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

With the November 4th elections in the rear view mirror, the focus in Wisconsin will now shift back to the State Capitol and the upcoming legislative session.

I'm excited about the opportunities we will have to move our state forward and find new ways to support workers and families across Wisconsin. As always, I will be sure to keep you up to date on everything happening "under the dome" as well as back home in western Wisconsin.

I hope you find this information helpful!

Sincerely,

Jennifer K. Shilling
State Senator | 32nd District

Shilling elected Senate Democratic Leader

On Wednesday, the legislators wrapped up the leadership elections for the upcoming 2015-16 session. I am honored that my Democratic colleagues have entrusted me with the responsibility of serving as the next Senate Democratic Leader. I am excited to work with all of my colleagues in the Senate and bring our Democratic values and ideals to the table.

We have a diverse Democratic caucus, rich in talent and strong in our convictions. The next two years will present many challenges, but there will also be many opportunities when we are unified in our efforts. We know that by working together, we can strengthen our communities, grow our economy and build a brighter future for all Wisconsin families.

Around the District - Veterans Day

As we celebrated Veterans Day earlier this week, I want to give a special "Thank You!" to all of our veterans and their families who have served and sacrificed to preserve our freedoms here at home. Thank you!

It was a special day for the Shilling family as we joined our community in honoring our local heroes at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. I was proud of my son Nate for participating in that event and at a special Veterans Day event at Northwoods Elementary School.
