Dear Outdoor Enthusiast,
As an avid
hunter residing in La Crosse, I wanted to let you know about a new licensing
tool available through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
The DNR
recently introduced its "Go Wild" (GoWild.Wi.Gov)
program, an online resource to obtain key licenses, tags, and registrations
-- available 24 hours a day! DNR products available for purchase online
include:
-
Boat,
ATV/UTV and snowmobile registrations
-
Fishing licenses: General licenses, Great Lakes salmon and trout,
inland trout stamp, sturgeon hook and line and more
-
Hunting licenses: Deer, turkey, small game, waterfowl and more
-
Conservation Patron licenses
-
Trapping and Harvesting licenses
These and
other DNR products will still be available for purchase in-person from
qualified retailers around the state. However, with the "Go Wild" website,
you can obtain licenses with more ease than ever before.
The Go Wild
system also expands acceptable proof of licensure options. In addition to
presenting an original hard copy of your license or registration, many
documents can now be reprinted at home or at a retailer. Some documents can
even be displayed as a digital file on your smart phone or established by
presenting your Driver's License or Wisconsin Conservation Card. The rules
for proof vary based on the type of license or registration. I recommend
that you visit
GoWild.Wi.Gov to learn more about the requirements for your favorite
activities.
As a longtime
supporter of Wisconsin's sporting heritage, I am committed to strengthening
the recreational opportunities our state can provide. It is my hope that the
"Go Wild" program will allow more Wisconsinites to enjoy the many outdoor
pursuits our state has to offer.
If ever I can
be of assistance to you -- regarding licensing, or any other state or
community issue of importance to you -- please do not hesitate to contact me
at
Rep.Billings@legis.wi.gov or (608)266-5780.
Best Wishes,
Jill Billings
