Thank you for contacting me, regarding AB1 – the Assembly Republicans’ School Accountability Bill. I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with me, and value your concerns about this legislation’s effect on Wisconsin education.

I am a strong supporter of Wisconsin’s public schools, and am currently the ranking Democratic member of the Assembly Education Committee. Rest assured that I am working closely with my colleagues, in addition to several experts in the field of education, to combat the potentially harmful effects of this bill.  As a longtime member of the Education Committee, it has always been my priority to stand up for Wisconsin’s children and families and to make sure every single student in our state has access to the quality education guaranteed by our State Constitution.  As the proposed legislation is discussed, I will keep your position in mind.
