Website for Affordable Care Act Information
Wisconsin has a new website to help you
navigate through healthcare changes in the Affordable Care Act, also
called ObamaCare. This website grew out of the Enrollment for Health
Coalition, and was led by the led by the Wisconsin Primary Health Care
Association (WPHCA), Covering Kids & Families-Wisconsin (CKF), Milwaukee
Health Care Partnership, and in collaboration with the State of
Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The website,
www.e4healthwi.org, will be a great resource for Wisconsin
residents.
Share Your
Farm Story!
Wisconsin has a rich agricultural history
which remains strong today in the 67th Assembly District. I
grew up on a dairy farm in Colfax, and it is amazing to me how much
farming has changed over the decades. In that vein, the Smithsonian
Museum of American History is seeking the public’s help in documenting
and preserving America’s agricultural tradition:
“With the
Agriculture Innovation and Heritage Archive, the Smithsonian’s National
Museum of American History is asking the public to help us preserve the
innovations and experiences of farming and ranching across the United
States. Visitors can
share their stories about the technologies and innovations that have
changed agricultural work, as well as how these changes have affected
their communities. The museum hopes to build a comprehensive digital
archive of modern agriculture through user-submitted personal stories,
photos, and other ephemera.”
All submissions that are accepted
will be preserved and made publicly available on the archive's website. For
more information,
visit their website here!
Deer Season
has Arrived!
Deer season has finally
arrived. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is excited
to announce a new program for hunters to commemorate their first deer
harvest by providing first-time successful deer hunters with a
free certificate. Each certificate is individually customizable with
your information. Starting with the 2013 archery season and continuing
through the gun hunt, those who qualify can submit their information and
a picture of their deer
by visiting the DNR’s website.
Xcel Energy
Visit
Last week I had the privilege of
attending one of Xcel Energy’s monthly safety meetings for employees at
the Menomonie Service Plant. I want to thank everyone for a great
discussion!
