CASTLE DOCTRINE
Yesterday, Assembly Bill 69, the Castle Doctrine passed in the Judiciary
and Ethics Committee. Assembly Bill 69, which has bipartisan support, gives
citizens the right to protect their families and themselves should an
intruder wish to do them harm. I believe law abiding citizens should have
the right to protect their loved ones and themselves.
SPECIAL SESSION ON JOBS
This week, Governor Walker called a special session on jobs.
The economy and families across Wisconsin are struggling right now. One of
my top priorities this session has been trying to find ways to help people
return to work. I think solving problems is better done with many voices
giving input. During this special session on jobs, there are bills being
brought forth by both parties which I am excited to see.
Some of the bills coming forth include:
Assembly Bill 179- Authorizes the creation of a multi-jurisdictional tax
incremental financing district
Assembly Bill 97- Increases advanced manufacturing skills grants for
technical colleges
Assembly Bill 145- Authorizes the Public Service Commission to approve
temporary electric rates to promote economic development
Giving people the tools to become an asset to the workforce and helping
areas that have the potential to stimulate the local economy is crucial to
helping Wisconsin’s economy grow and sustain that growth.

FALL HAS ARRIVED
The fall colors have come upon us. During fall, the green
chlorophyll in leaves disappears and various tones of red and yellow become
apparent. To see a map of where leaves are the most colorful in Wisconsin,
please go to this link found on the Department of Tourism’s website:
