Budget Update
The Legislature's
Joint
Finance Committee has completed its agency briefings on
Assembly
Bill (AB) 40, the 2013-2015 budget bill. On Tuesday, March 25,
the final agency presentations included testimony by the secretaries of
the Departments of
Children and Families,
Natural Resources, and
Safety and Professional Services. Each of the secretaries then
answered questions posed by committee members. All four days of
agency briefings are available for viewing on
WisconsinEye.
As I mentioned in last week's E-Update,
the finance committee will now take the show on the road and hold public
hearings on the budget at four locations around the state:
Thursday, April 4: Greendale High
School auditorium, 6801 Southway, Greendale,
10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Monday, April 8: Lambeau Field,
Legends Club Room, 1265 Lombardi Ave, Green Bay,
10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday, April 10: Kalahari
Resort, Suites 2 and 7, 1305 Kalahari Dr, Wisconsin Dells,
10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
(Note:
This is a different location from what the finance committee originally
announced)
Thursday, April 18:
Baldwin-Woodville High School auditorium, 1000 13th Ave, Baldwin,
10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The Baldwin hearing is, of course, the
closest one to the 67th District, and I encourage interested
constituents to attend. You may also send your comments to the
finance committee at

Assembly Republican Website
This week, the
Assembly Republicans have published a website that provides
information about every Republican member of the Assembly, including
links to press releases, columns, and E-Updates. The site is a
useful one-stop-shop not just for learning more about the Assembly
Republicans, but the Assembly itself. It also includes links to
the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Job Center of Wisconsin, and the
State of Wisconsin's main website.
HAVE
A SAFE
AND
HAPPY
EASTER!
