66th Assembly District Update -  March 12, 2012;  Vol. 30, Edition 72

Caylee's Law Ready for the Governor's Signature

As the lead Assembly sponsor of Caylee's Law, I'm proud to update all of you on the latest progress of this important bill.  After passing overwhelmingly in the State Assembly, the bill recently passed unanimously in the State Senate as well. I'm happy to report that Caylee's Law is now on its way to the Governor's desk to be signed into law. I introduced the bill in response to many contacts from constituents encouraging me to sponsor this legislation in the aftermath of the Casey Anthony trial. The bill specifies penalties for failing to report a child missing.

Meeting with Visitors at the Capitol

Last week, I met with Tyson Fettes, the Racine County Register of Deeds, here at the Capitol. He came to Madison with the Wisconsin County Constitutional Officers Association to meet with legislators about the group's interests.

Also, I met with visitors from the Kenosha County Tavern League at the Capitol on their lobby day. We discussed some important issues and upcoming legislation. It was a great visit!
