Mayor Miller of Burlington and I will be holding joint office hours this Saturday, October 3rd from 9:00am - 11:00am at the Burlington City Hall on 300 North Pine Street.  This will be an opportunity for you to stop by and share any concerns you have with me about state-related issues and policy items.  If you are unable to attend, please don't hesitate to call my office in Madison and my staff and I will be more than happy to assist you.  Hope to see you Saturday!

Area WWII Veteran Honored at Veterans' Museum

This week, Representative Peter Barca, Representative John Steinbrink and I attended a ceremony at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum library in honor of Harold Lippert.  A resident of Kenosha, Mr. Lippert was a member of the 95th Bomber Group (H) of the 8th U.S. Army Air Force based in Horham, England during World War II.  Mr. Lippert is among those heroes mentioned in the book Contrails II: 95th Bomb Group (H), 8th U.S. Army Air Force, Horham, England, 1943-1945.  Written by the 8th Air Force Memorial Association, the book provides a look into the missions flown by Mr. Lippert and his comrades throughout during World War II.

The ceremony held at the library unveiled a copy of Contrails II: 95th Bomb Group (H), 8th U.S. Army Air Force, Horham, England, 1943-1945, that will remain on display for visitors to read.  Joining my colleagues and me at the ceremony were Harold Lippert's widow, Mary Jane Lippert, her friend Jerome McNamara, and Amy O'Shea, a librarian with the Wisconsin Veterans Museum.  During your next visit to Madison, I encourage you to stop by the museum and take a look at the book.
