Rep. Novak Fights for SeniorCare
Madison… State Representative Todd
Novak (R-Dodgeville) issued the following statement regarding his
support for preserving SeniorCare:
“I have
been contacted by many constituents who are concerned about the
Governor’s proposed budget. The budget covers a large range of subjects
and issues; the proposed cuts to long term care and aging care programs
is an issue that many are apprehensive about. “
“Recently,
I authored a letter to the Co-Chair of the Joint Finance Committee,
Representative John Nygren. The letter conveyed my strong support for
SeniorCare. I expressed how the proposed changes to SeniorCare, is
specifically troubling to the senior residents of my district who are
enrolled in the program. SeniorCare is an important program that ensures
the elderly are able to afford the medications they need, even those
that aren’t covered under Medicare. I am pleased with Representative
Nygren’s announcement that he and fellow colleagues on the Joint Finance
Committee intend to support SeniorCare.”
“On behalf
of my constituents and seniors across the state, I intend to fight to
Preserve and Save SeniorCare. It is a vital program that benefits our
seniors by keeping prescriptions affordable.”
Rep.
Novak’s office is located at 304 North in the Wisconsin State Capitol.
He can be contacted by phone at (608) 266-7502 or by e-mail at

Representative Novak serves the 51st Assembly District, which includes
parts of Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Richland, and Sauk Counties.

What's
Happening in Madison...
Yesterday, the Joint Finance Committee (JFC)
wrapped up their fourth and final public hearing of this year's budget
process. With the budget continuing to be worked on by the state
legislature, the state capitol
continues to be a
busy place. Nevertheless, it's always refreshing to participate in local
events, to visit with
constituents, share moments with, and meet with folks from the district when they visit Madison.
I'd like to congratulate the Mineral Point
Boys High School Basketball team on their recent accomplishment;
the team earned the Silver Ball at the WIAA State Tournament this past
weekend--What a season!
I was glad to have been able to attend
the Eagle Scout Ceremony this past weekend. Christian J. Lepinske of
Boy Scouts of America Troop 165 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, Was honored at a
special Court of Honor for achieving the Eagle Scout Award. It was a
great time, and congratulations Christan!
Additionally, It was a pleasure to have a
class of 3rd and 4th graders from Plain Elementary School visit this week.
Tara Johnson and her multi-age class from River Valley Schools took a tour
of the Capitol, and we were able to get a picture in the Rotunda.
If you ever find yourself in Madison or your
group plans to visit the State Capitol, I hope that you can stop by my
office, 304 North. It is a beautiful facility full of history. I'd
definitely encourage you to take a tour someday - Now that Winter is coming
to a close, the Capitol and surrounding area would make a great day trip for
the family.
