Frank Lloyd Wright Trail Advances to Governor

Yesterday, one of my bills was advanced by the state Senate. AB512 will create a trail through the state, highlighting the architectural works of Wisconsin native Frank Lloyd Wright. The bill showcases many of the Wright-designed buildings across the state. The new trail will provide a clear guide for tourists looking to visit these sites in communities from Richland County to Kenosha County.

With this bill, Wisconsin can honor one of its most accomplished residents and invite people from all over the world to enjoy the works of Frank Lloyd Wright.

The bill designates and marks a specified highway route in the counties of Kenosha, Racine, Milwaukee, Waukesha, Jefferson, Dane, Iowa, Sauk, and Richland as the "Frank Lloyd Wright Trail" to identify to motorists the location of specified buildings designed or constructed by Frank Lloyd Wright that are open to the public.

I’m excited to have the opportunity to show off these extraordinary buildings, embedded in the fabric of our communities, to visitors from across the world. I look forward to welcoming its many visitors to Wisconsin.

Working for You in Madison

Wisconsin Farmers Union

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to sit down with constituents visiting Madison with the Wisconsin Farmer Union. We had a great conversation about the future of agriculture in the state and some of the great work going on in Southwest Wisconsin. The visit was particularly timely as yesterday was National Ag Day. Did you know that Wisconsin farmers contribute more than $88.3 billion in economic activity and support as many as 413,500 jobs in our state? Thank you farmers for all you do to keep our economy running!

Senate Votes to Approve Funds for Lafayette Co. Drug Enforcement

Another bill I authored, Assembly Bill 771 was approved by the State Senate yesterday. AB771 will provide the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department with $70,000 over the course of the next two years. The funds are to be dedicated to drug law enforcement and enable the Sheriff’s Department to better coordinate enforcement efforts with surrounding counties.AB771 will increase drug enforcement in Lafayette County in order to address a serious issue affecting Southwest Wisconsin.

The bill will help Lafayette County increase drug enforcement efforts, and better equip Lafayette County to address a serious issue affecting Southwest Wisconsin.

One of the reasons I ran for office was to fight rural crime and drug use. We need to give our law enforcement the tools they need to fight this ongoing problem. I appreciate the help and support of Lafayette County Sheriff Gill, over the past year as I’ve continued advocating for this bill. Together we’ll fight to keep our communities safe from this horrible epidemic.

Congratulations to the Mineral Point Girls Basketball Team!

Last Saturday, the lady Pointers went on to beat Kenosha's St. Joseph 68-52 to capture the WIAA Division 4 state title. Congratulations on a hard-fought season and for bringing back a state title to Mineral Point - you make our community proud!

Sincerely,
