My Reaction to the Bucks Arena

The Assembly approved the Milwaukee Bucks arena funding plan.

Tuesday July 28th, the legislation to provide public financing for a new Milwaukee Bucks arena was voted on and passed by the Assembly. There were no changes made to the bill before the 52-34 vote.

For the past several months, I’ve heard from many in my district who strongly object to using their tax dollars to build a new arena for the Milwaukee Bucks. With questionable benefits for the residents of my district, I voted against this plan that will use state tax dollars to finance a project in Milwaukee.”

As an independent voice for our community in the state legislature, I will continue to work hard to represent your views in our state Capitol. The input I received from many of you was crucial in helping me reaching this decision, and I believe that my vote best reflects the views of our district.
