REP. KEITH RIPP APPLAUDS DATCP SECRETARY BEN BRANCEL'S
PUBLIC SERVICE CAREER TO THE STATE OF WISCONSIN
Madison, WI - Representative Keith Ripp (R-Lodi)
released the following statement in response to
Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer
Protection (DATCP) Secretary Ben Brancel's retirement
announcement (on July 20, 2017) from public service:
"I would like to thank Secretary Brancel for his over 30
years of public service to the state of Wisconsin. His
vast knowledge and strong support of agriculture has
significantly benefitted the Wisconsin State Legislature, DATCP, U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service
Agency, and the College of Agricultural and Life
Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has
travelled throughout the nation and around the world
promoting and advancing Wisconsin agriculture.
As both a farmer and state representative, I have had
the privilege of working with Secretary Brancel
throughout his career. He has been one of the best
people to work with both personally and professionally.
His experience, optimism, and well-rounded leadership
will certainly be missed. I wish him the best with his
well-deserved retirement back on his family farm in
Marquette County with his wife, Gail."

"There will be something for everyone at this hands-on,

REP. RIPP IN THE DISTRICT AND THE UPCOMING WISCONSIN
STATE FAIR
I was honored
to join with Insight FS employees, elected officials from
the village of Brandon, and members of the local farming
community at the groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, July
19 for the new feed facility in Brandon. This event
celebrates Wisconsin's strong commitment to agriculture and
growing our state and local economy.
The Wisconsin State Fair starts next Thursday, August 3 and
runs through Sunday, August 13. There will be various
attractions and activities for all ages, including the
iconic Original Cream Puffs. As a legislative member on the
State Fair Park Board, I would encourage families to travel
to Milwaukee and enjoy one of Wisconsin's cherished fairs
and yearly traditions.
