REP. KEITH RIPP'S RESPONSE TO GOVERNOR WALKER'S BUDGET
ADDRESS
Madison, WI – State Representative Keith Ripp
(R-Lodi) issued the following statement in response to
Governor Scott Walker’s Budget Address:
“On Tuesday (February 8), Governor Walker highlighted
the main priorities in his 2017-19 biennial state budget
proposal. As a rural legislator, I am very pleased with
Governor Walker’s determination to cutting taxes and
meeting our state’s diverse economic needs by increasing
funding for rural schools, worker training programs, and
broadband expansion.
“These new investments would not have been possible
without six years of common sense government reforms and
our commitment to significantly reducing the tax burden
for hardworking Wisconsin families. Even though Governor
Walker did not propose any long-term plans to fund our
state’s current and future transportation system needs,
I remain fully committed towards finding viable
solutions this legislative session.
“I look forward to
reviewing Governor Walker’s specific budget initiatives
and working with my colleagues to ensure Wisconsin
continues moving in the right direction. Over the next
several months as the State Legislature works through
the budget process, I encourage the residents of the 42nd
Assembly District to contact me with their comments and
recommendations.”
