BUDGET MEETINGS NEXT WEEK Next week will be a busy one here at the Capitol! We have several bills on the floor on Tuesday afternoon, and the Joint Finance Committee (JFC) will begin their executive sessions on the Legislative Budget on Wednesday.
Here is the order of issue areas JFC plans to address on Wednesday. JFC will take up the provisions of the Governor's budget pertaining to each area, and will vote to keep each provision in the budget, or will hear amendments to change them. Please let me know if you have any questions or comments about any of these. You can follow the links included for more information on each.
Secretary of State
FLOOR SESSION ON TUESDAY
AB 74. Rep. Keith Ripp (R-Lodi). The bill allows drivers education instruction to be done online by schools that are licensed by the Department of Transportation.
AB 113. Rep. Keith Ripp (R-Lodi). The bill makes non-controversial but necessary changes to 2013 ACT 377, the Implements of Husbandry legislation passed last session.
AB 114. Rep. David Steffen (R-Green Bay). The "stolen valor" bill makes it a crime if someone falsely claims military service or honors and provides a penalty.
AB 143. Rep. Tyler August (R-Lake Geneva). The bill sets state standards for ride-sharing companies. It requires companies to get a state license, do background checks on drivers, and have $1 million in liability insurance.
If you would like more information about any of these bills, please let me know!
