SeniorCare Renewal

Wisconsin has received formal approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for renewal of the SeniorCare Waiver.

Since 2002 over 152,000 seniors have enrolled in this successful program. The program has a simple enrollment process, a $30 annual enrollment fee, income-based deductibles and co-payments of $5 for generic drugs or $15 for brand name drugs.

SeniorCare Facts

The SeniorCare prescription drug assistance program is available to all seniors 65 years or older with an income at or below $22,340 per year for an individual or $30,260 for a married couple.

About 75% of Wisconsin seniors enrolled in SeniorCare are women.

The SeniorCare waiver is estimated to lower total net Medicaid spending by $146 million in 2011, of which $53 million will be state savings.

If you think you might be able to enroll, contact your local aging agency for more information. Or, call SeniorCare Customer Service at 1-800-657-2038 (TTY and translations services are available). Or go to www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/seniorcare for more information.

Rose Bowl 2013

I am a huge Wisconsin Badger fan. So naturally you will find me watching the game on New Year's cheering on my favorite team. Let's hope we bring home a win.

Be sure to watch the 99th Rose Bowl Game on January 1st at 4:10 pm.

Go Badgers!!
