Ballweg Re-elected Caucus Chair
State Representative Joan Ballweg was re-elected Republican Assembly Caucus Chair for the 101st Session of the Legislature. She joins the leadership team headed by Speaker Robin Vos (R-Burlington).
"I am very honored that my Assembly Republican Colleagues have again selected me for this role," said Ballweg. "The previous legislative session was historic and I’m grateful that my contribution to the team was viewed by my fellow lawmakers as worthy of a second term."
The Assembly Republican Caucus increased its majority to 60 members. After redistricting, retirements, and a couple members moving to the Senate, there will be 11 new Republican representatives who will be serving their first term in the Legislature.
“I am looking forward to working with our new and returning members this session,” Ballweg said “I look at this position as a service to my colleagues and feel privileged to have been selected to the leadership team.”
In addition to serving as a member of the Assembly Republican Leadership Team, Representative Ballweg is Co-Chair of the Joint Legislative Council, Chair of the Special Committee on 911 Communications, serves on the State of Wisconsin Building Commission and the 2012 Commission on Financial Aid Consolidation and Modernization.
The 101st Session of the Wisconsin State Legislature starts on January 7, 2013.
Winter will soon be here.... Be Prepared
