Session Wrap-up
The Wisconsin Legislature recently
finished the latest session. I am pleased to report that a bill I authored
(SB 536) at the request of Attorney General J. B. Van Hollen to combat child
trafficking passed the Assembly and Senate with
bipartisan support. This legislation will give additional tools to law
enforcement for the prosecution and investigation of child trafficking
crimes as well as provide more protections for victims of child trafficking.
The bill is ready for the Governor's signature.
I testified with Attorney General J. B. Van
Hollen and Sen. Wanggaard on SB 536
The Assembly passed SB 369, a bill which provides
tax credits to businesses that hire disabled veterans for full-time and
part-time positions. The legislation is now headed to the Governor's desk
for his signature.
