Session Wrap-up

The Wisconsin Legislature recently finished the latest session. I am pleased to report that a bill I authored (SB 536) at the request of Attorney General J. B. Van Hollen to combat child trafficking passed the Assembly and Senate with bipartisan support. This legislation will give additional tools to law enforcement for the prosecution and investigation of child trafficking crimes as well as provide more protections for victims of child trafficking. The bill is ready for the Governor's signature.

I testified with Attorney General J. B. Van Hollen and Sen. Wanggaard on SB 536

The Assembly passed SB 369, a bill which provides tax credits to businesses that hire disabled veterans for full-time and part-time positions. The legislation is now headed to the Governor's desk for his signature. all veterans can find resources in their search for employment at the WI Department of Veteran's Affairs Employment page.

Executive Residence Shoreland Restoration Project

I serve on the State Capitol and Executive Residence Board and and excited about some beautiful improvments happening soon at the Executive Residence property on Lake Mendota.  The Executive Residence Shoreland Restoration Project will restore the natural shoreline, improving water quality and habitat for wildlife on the lake.
