Assembly Session
In the Wisconsin State Assembly all 99 districts have elections every two years. After the November election plans get underway to prepare for the new biennium.
The Wisconsin State Assembly is governed by rules that guide the Assembly operations and structure. Setting a biennial calendar, the election of leadership, and structuring committees are among the first tasks the Legislature undertakes.
Whereas committee public hearings are designed for public input in the crafting legislation Assembly floor sessions allows Representatives to weigh in on the merits of Legislation before casting their votes.
The Assembly does have a public viewing gallery for citizens interested in observing the process. Assembly rules do outline conduct in these spaces which can be found here: Session Day Visit.
