The Assembly Sergeant at Arms office manages the use of the Assembly spaces including the various hearing rooms and the Assembly Chamber and Parlor.
Legislative activities take precedence and a set prioritization is followed keeping the functional needs of the Assembly at the forefront.
The Assembly has a wide range of committees each set to deal with different subject matters. Committees meet at various times throughout a Legislative session. There are five round committee hearing rooms on second, third, and fourth floor in the Northwest and Northeast sections of the Capitol. The Grand Army of the Republic Hearing Room is located on the Fourth Floor of the North Wing. This room is used for Legislative committees and is also where the majority caucus meets. The Joint Finance Hearing Room is another large committee hearing room located on the Fourth Floor of the East Wing of the Capitol. The North Hearing Room is a large decorative commttee hearing room also used for committee meetings and it is located on the Second Floor of the North Wing.
