EAU CLAIRE – Last week Representative Warren Petryk was once again named Chair of the Assembly Committee on Workforce Development for the upcoming legislative session. Representative Petryk made the following statement regarding the announcement of committee chairs:

“It is truly an honor and privilege to once again have been chosen as the Chairperson of the Assembly Committee on Workforce Development. This honor shows that throughout my tenure as the chair that I have been able to work in a bipartisan fashion to find solutions to some of the workforce challenges that Wisconsin faces.”

“This session the Committee’s work will be extremely important as we find solutions to the workforce shortage that is holding back the full potential of our local businesses. We also need to continue to find innovative ways to help our state recover from the economic impact of the pandemic. This includes supporting and strengthening our youth and registered apprenticeship programs, helping our veterans transition to private-sector jobs, promoting career opportunities for people with disabilities, and providing workforce skills to those transitioning out of the corrections system to find a job.”

Representative Petryk will also again serve as the Vice-Chair of the Aging and Long-Term Care Committee.

“I am pleased to also serve on this committee. The 93rd Assembly District is mainly rural and I will bring this needed perspective to Madison to ensure the needs and challenges of our area are heard, such as protecting our rural nursing care facilities and supporting the Senior Care program.”
