Engaging with Our Future Leaders
One of my favorite parts about serving as your state representative is visiting classrooms and engaging with some of our future leaders. This week took me to schools at both ends of the 87th District. On Wednesday, I spent the day visiting classrooms in the Hayward School District.

One of my stops was visiting the Little Hurricanes at Hayward Primary School.

Later in the day, I spoke with students at Hayward Intermediate School.

On Thursday, I spent my day on the other end of the 87th District speaking with students in Athens. In the morning I visited Mrs. Mroczenski's 3rd and 4th-grade classroom class at Trinity Lutheran School. It was great to follow up with them after their trip to the State Capitol a few weeks ago.

It was great to see Mrs. Mroczenski's class again!

In the afternoon I finished off my classroom visits for the week by speaking with Ms. Kalepp's 4th graders at Athens Elementary School. I always enjoy speaking with students about my job as their state representative and teaching how a bill becomes a law. I'm looking forward to seeing them again when they visit the Capitol next month.

More great questions from the 4th graders at Athens Elementary!

Visit to Black River Industries

On Monday, I stopped by to see the hardworking folks at Black River Industries. It was great to hear how this great non-profit is continuing to meet the needs of those with disabilities in the Medford area.

One of the best ways to stay up to date with what is going on in Madison is to sign up for the legislature's notification tracking service. This service allows you to follow legislative activity in Madison. Once you create a free account you can sign up to receive notifications about specific bills or committees as well as legislative activity pertaining to a subject area (i.e. agriculture, veterans). You can sign up for this service at notify.legis.wisconsin.gov.
