Remembering A Hero

On Friday, I had the privilege of attending the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Ceremony at the State Capitol.  This ceremony is held each year during National Police Week and recognizes the law enforcement officers from Wisconsin who lost their lives in the line of duty.  At each year's ceremony, the law enforcement officers who were lost in the previous year are remembered and their names are added to the memorial.  This year's ceremony was particularly moving for me as the name of Rusk County Deputy Sheriff, Dan Glaze was one of the three names added to the memorial.  Thank you to everyone in law enforcement who put their lives on the line each day to keep our communities safe.

If you are in Madison and are interested in visiting the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial it can be found on the grounds of the State Capitol near the corner of N. Pinckney and E. Mifflin Streets.  Deputy Glaze's name can be found on panel II of the memorial.

Foster Care Recognition Ceremony

One of the best parts about representing the 87th Assembly District is having the opportunity recognize constituents for the positive impact that they have in our community.  Last week I was able to attend the Foster Care Award Ceremony at the Capitol.  This ceremony honors the contributions of foster parents and youth in Wisconsin.  At this ceremony, I was able to meet Lacey and Steve Naiberg of Conrath who were among the recipients of the 2017 Governor's Foster Care Award. Congratulations Lacey and Steve, and thank you for what you do for our community!

Governor Walker Visits Medford

Earlier this month, I was pleased to welcome Governor Walker to the 87th District and join him on his visit to Medford Area Senior High School.  The Governor and I were able to witness first-hand the outstanding work of the students and educators in Medford.  During the governor's visit I was pleased to introduce him to my friend Hunter who works at the school.  I met Hunter earlier this year as part of Take Your Legislator to Work Day.

Congratulations to Elizabeth Wilson!

Recently, I attended a ceremony honoring Elizabeth Wilson of Medford for earning the Gold Star Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting.  I joined with Senator Petrowski to present her with a citation honoring her tremendous accomplishment.  Congratulations Elizabeth!

Thank You for Visiting

Recently, I was able to greet the groups from Flambeau, Athens, and Ladysmith Elementary Schools on their tours of the State Capitol.  Thank you for visiting!

The group from Flambeau Elementary toured the Capitol on May 8th

The group from Athens Elementary toured the Capitol on May 12th
