A New Place for Information on Your Schools
Did you ever want to know more information about your local schools, such as state spending, enrollment, or even the average ACT score? If you have, the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL) recently unveiled a new website that is a one-stop-shop for information about Wisconsin school districts. This easy-to-use website allows you to select your school district, and from there you'll be able to learn more about various aspects of the district. The information used on this website is gathered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

You can check out this site here: KnowMySchoolWi.com.
Honoring a Centenarian
Recently, I was pleased to attend the birthday party of centenarian Esther Schrock who is 102 years young! I had the honor of presenting her with a citation on behalf of the State Assembly. Esther was active for many years at South Lawrence Mennonite Church where her husband Leroy was the minister. She taught Bible school and Sunday school and even taught me many years ago.
Under the Dome
While I was in Madison earlier this week I had the opportunity to meet with CEO Bill Eckles from Bevcomm. He was in town participating in the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association's Government Relations Seminar. Bevcomm serves parts of Rusk and Sawyer Counties and it was great to talk with him about their broadband expansion goals in our area.

Meeting with Area Hospitals
Last Thursday, I headed up to Hayward to meet with CEO Luke Beirl at Hayward Area Memorial Hospital. While I was there, I also had the opportunity to join him to meet virtually with several area hospitals as a part of the Wisconsin Hospital Association's annual legislative day.
Thank you to Luke for hosting me!
Stop at the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation
Another stop in Hayward last Thursday was the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation. I swung by to thank them for all of their hard work making this year's Birkie a success. I also presented them with a copy of the Assembly Joint Resolution 108 which the Legislature passed earlier this year. I am proud to author this resolution recognizing the American Birkebeiner and its importance to the State of Wisconsin.
St. Joseph's Catholic Church Lenten Fish Fry
A few weeks ago I stopped by St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hayward to try their Lenten fish fry. The meal was outstanding and the company was as well. If you would like to try their fish fry yourself they are having another one this evening from 4:30 - 7:30 PM. Who knows, you may even see me there!
Upcoming Events Around the 87th
Getting out to the many awesome community events around the 87th District and meeting with constituents is one of the best parts of my job as your state representative. Check out some of the upcoming events around the district below. If you know of any other upcoming events, please contact my office and let me know, so I can include them in a future e-update and attend if I'm able.
Stay Up to Date
One of the best ways to stay up to date with what is going on in Madison is to sign up for the legislature's notification tracking service. This service allows you to follow legislative activity in Madison. Once you create a free account you can sign up to receive notifications about specific bills or committees as well as legislative activity pertaining to a subject area (i.e. agriculture, veterans). You can sign up for this service at notify.legis.wisconsin.gov.
