A Note from Rep. Edming This week, I joined fellow Assembly Republicans in support of the Red Tape Review initiative. The program will cut government red tape in order to improve Wisconsin's business climate. Chapters of the state's Administrative Code will be reviewed with the goal of removing unnecessary and obsolete regulations. This effort, led by Rep. Joan Ballweg (R-Markesan), is a continuation of last session's Right the Rules project, which was able to review 20 percent of the Administrative Code and cut 76 pages of burdensome rules. Wisconsin's Administrative Code is written and doesn't receive much thought thereafter. We need to take the time to ensure that code still functions properly for Wisconsinites and businesses. Rules that no longer have a purpose should be eliminated from the books. I am excited to participate in this initiative and look forward to cutting red tape in our state.
