Merry Christmas

From my family to yours, we would like to wish you a blessed and Merry Christmas.

I also encourage you to keep in your thoughts and prayers the members of our armed forces who are unable to share the holiday with their families, as well as those who are serving in law enforcement and the medical field who will be working to keep us safe during the holidays.

This year marks the 105th anniversary of the Christmas Truce of 1914, when some British and German soldiers observed a ceasefire and celebrated Christmas together. I encourage you to learn more about this fascinating episode from history here and to share with your families. There are many important lessons in this story for the world we live in.

Travel safely and we will see you in the New Year!

Keep Christ in Christmas!

Capitol Christmas Tree

In Madison, the addition of the Wisconsin State Christmas Tree has made our state capitol even more beautiful. The building smells great too!

This year's Christmas tree is a 30-foot balsam fir from Medford. Two thousand lights adorn the tree in addition to ornaments made by schoolchildren at public and private schools throughout the state. The  official tree lighting was held on Friday, December 6th.

Wisconsin Snow Report

Back in my October E-Update, I shared Travel Wisconsin's Fall Color Report. Did you know they also put out a statewide report on snow conditions? You can view snow conditions for a variety of activities including snowmobiling and skiing. The report also includes ideas for winter activities throughout the state.

You can view the Wisconsin Snow Report here.
